2. Who provides LifeTrack
LifeTrack is provided by Vaaley SIA, Latvia. In this policy, “LifeTrack,” “the app,” “Vaaley,” “we,” and “us” refer to the LifeTrack application and Vaaley SIA as appropriate. You can contact us at support@vaaley.com.
3. Scope of this policy
This policy covers data processed by the LifeTrack mobile application, including normal on-device use, manual ZIP import and export, and the optional Google Drive backup and restore feature. It does not cover other Vaaley products or Google’s independent processing under Google’s own terms and privacy policy.
4. Data stored locally
During normal use, LifeTrack stores your data locally on your device. This can include the trackers, goals, entries, notes, settings, filenames, images, audio, and other attachments you add. The app processes this information on your device to provide the features you use. Vaaley does not receive it.
5. Information not collected by Vaaley SIA
LifeTrack has no ads, analytics, telemetry, developer-operated user accounts, or Vaaley backend for user data. Under the current design, Vaaley does not collect or receive:
- your trackers, goals, entries, notes, settings, or attachments;
- your Google Drive backup files or their contents;
- your Google account email address or Google password;
- IP addresses, device information, usage analytics, advertising data, or marketing profiles from LifeTrack.
LifeTrack does not sell, rent, advertise with, profile, or use Google user data for analytics.
6. Manual import and export
Manual ZIP import and export are user-controlled local operations. You decide when to create an export, where to save or share it, and when to import one. Vaaley does not receive these ZIP files. Files exported to a location or service you choose are then handled under that location’s or service’s rules.
7. Optional Google Drive backup
Google Drive backup is optional and is not required to use the rest of LifeTrack. When you connect it, LifeTrack authenticates directly with Google. Backup data travels directly between LifeTrack on your device and the hidden LifeTrack application-data folder in your own Google Drive account. Vaaley has no backend that receives or stores these backups and cannot independently view, download, restore, or access them.
Connecting or switching Google accounts performs discovery only; it does not upload a backup. The first backup or restore requires your explicit decision. Automatic backup is optional, is off by default, and can operate only after you enable it and establish a confirmed backup baseline.
8. Google authentication and account identification
Google Sign-In and the operating system manage authentication credentials. LifeTrack never receives or stores your Google password. The app reads Google’s stable account identifier and hashes it locally so synchronization metadata remains isolated between Google accounts. LifeTrack does not store the Google account email address as synchronization metadata.
9. What may be included in a Drive backup
A cloud backup can contain the complete portable LifeTrack database and referenced attachments. Depending on what you entered or attached, this can include:
- trackers, goals, entries, notes, and settings;
- filenames, images, audio, and other attachments;
- a random installation ID, backup timestamps, and revision identifiers;
- content hashes, attachment MIME types and sizes, and summary counts.
This data is stored by Google under your Google account, according to Google’s terms and Google Privacy Policy.
10. How Google user data is accessed and used
LifeTrack’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
LifeTrack requests only the Google Drive scopehttps://www.googleapis.com/auth/drive.appdata. This permission lets LifeTrack access only its hidden application-data folder in your own Google Drive. It does not permit LifeTrack to read your ordinary Drive files, folders, photos, documents, or files belonging to other applications.
LifeTrack uses this access only to discover, create, read, update, restore, and clean up its own backup data at your direction and according to your backup settings. It does not use Google user data for advertising, analytics, profiling, or any unrelated purpose.
11. Data sharing and third parties
Vaaley does not receive or share LifeTrack user data because no LifeTrack backend collects it. If you enable Drive backup, Google independently processes authentication and stores the backup under your Google account. Google’s processing is governed by Google’s own terms and privacy policy. If you manually export data to another app, storage provider, or person, that transfer happens because of your choice and is governed by the recipient’s practices.
12. Security
Transfers between LifeTrack and Google Drive use HTTPS/TLS. Access to the hidden Drive application-data folder is protected by your Google account and Google’s security controls. LifeTrack backup files are not separately end-to-end encrypted by LifeTrack before upload. Device protections and any safeguards Google applies therefore remain important.
No storage or transmission system is completely secure. Because Vaaley does not receive the backup or hold its encryption keys, Vaaley cannot inspect or recover a backup for you.
13. Backup retention
- Local records remain until you delete them or remove the app’s data.
- Drive backups remain in your Drive until removed by LifeTrack’s retention cleanup or deleted by you through Google Drive.
- LifeTrack normally retains the current confirmed snapshot and two previous confirmed snapshots.
- Conflict branches can be retained longer while a synchronization conflict remains unresolved.
- Unreferenced cloud objects older than seven days may be removed during cleanup.
- A local recovery copy created during a cloud restore may remain on the device for up to seven days.
Disconnecting your Google account from LifeTrack does not delete existing Drive backups.
14. User controls, disconnection, and deletion
You control whether and where LifeTrack data is retained:
- You can disable automatic backup in LifeTrack.
- You can disconnect your Google account from LifeTrack or revoke LifeTrack’s Google access.
- Disconnecting or revoking access prevents future LifeTrack access, but does not necessarily delete hidden backup data already stored in Drive.
- To delete hidden backup data, open Google Drive Settings → Manage apps → LifeTrack → Delete hidden app data. See Google’s hidden app-data deletion instructions.
- You can delete local LifeTrack records in the app, or remove local data by uninstalling the app or clearing its application data, subject to normal iOS or Android platform behavior.
- You must delete manually exported ZIP files from each location where you chose to save or share them.
15. Children’s privacy
LifeTrack does not ask for a user’s age and Vaaley does not knowingly collect personal data from children through LifeTrack. The same local-first design applies to every user: data remains on the device unless optional Drive backup is enabled. A parent or guardian can remove local app data and any hidden Drive backup using the controls described above.
16. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when LifeTrack’s features or legal requirements change. We will publish the revised policy on this page and update the effective date. If a change materially affects how optional Google user data is used, we will provide notice appropriate to the change before the new practice takes effect.
